TV 175 ser 3: which carb?

Looked at so many threads on this question, feel confused.

I am rebuilding a standard TV 175 Ser 3.
It came to me with a perfectly good Delorto 18mm carb jetted for a Ser 3 Li.

The carb should be a 20mm SH1, and wanting to keep the TV stock this is my choice, but are there better out there?

Jetex have good/bad press.
PWK 24mm seem to be good but not sure about manifold fit (I have the right TV manifold)
Mikuni VM 20 I can't quite get to the bottom of...

My gut feeling is to keep it standard.

If the engine is standard,SH1/20 will be the best choice.Better fuel economy.
The 22mm SH2/22 Dellorto will work better with a clubman type exhaust.
If you do some port work, there is also a SH2/24 Dellorto.

Few months ago I did an ultra sonic cleaning to my spares.

Thanks for the reply, you are the guy with all the spare carbs in the UK then! ;)

I have an opportunity of a slightly damaged one (20mm) and will be fitting a 'clubman' exhaust to the otherwise standard TV.

Hi there
I've seen on you other thread that you are trying to keep costs down, if so, I run a Jetex 22 on my 175 with a clubman, I cant remember the exact jetting, needle etc as its been on for over 10 years and not only never caused a problem, runs really well. I can dig these out if you are considering this. Also this gives me just a little more 'poke' which is handy for keeping up traffic and faster scooters etc.
Jetex's do seam to get a bad press and to be fair there is a knack of starting mine when cold - its does always start but just need to use no throttle. the fuel consumption is miles better than the bigger dellortos on my other scooters and the plug is always a lovely chocolate brown.

Thanks Mickey, useful to know. When I found I had the wrong size carb my immediate thought was the Jetex, then I read all the bad press.
I'm chasing 2x 20mm Delortos this weekend.

One I'm told it ready to fit..
If they fall through I have lots of time to find a SH1/20 to try to keep things original, but they are not everywhere.

Not enough advice on setting-up the Mikuni, so that is off the options list now, nice to keep things simple!
Graham.

Without wanting to hijack this thread- as I have a standard SH1/20 on my TV, I would be looking to change over to a 22mm Spaco. Advice on jetting to suit a clubman would be appreciated...
