Larger Air filter

Postby citydaz » Mon Mar 28, 2016 12:50 pm

Hi,
Im running a Mugello 186 with a 28mm carb.
It sometimes feels a bit "boggy" at low speeds and revs.
The guy at the garage said it ran a lot better without the filter.
So I know the carb needs re-jetting etc, but as an interim step would the situation be improved if I put on a larger ram air filter?
The one im using now is just 60mm long, Im thinking of putting one on that is approx 120mm long.
Twice the volume of air getting through = less boggy at low revs???

thanks

The bigger the better, if you ask me.

Don't forget that these filters need washing out from time to time.
