This seems more common with the new white floats than it did with the older black ones, which may simply be because the introduction of the white ones coincides with the introduction of ethanol in fuel but could be down to any other number of reasons. I've had to change out 2 (one mine, one a mate's) of the white floats on new or reasonably new PHBHs, whereas I've not had issue with the black ones. The replacement white one in my pal's seems to be fine after a few year's use but I replaced mine with an older black one, which has also been fine since.

When I found this issue on my pal's TS1 we wanted to use the bike that weekend so we ordered one new but also set about fixing his for the weekend. I put 2 small holes through the float to let the fuel out and then sealed up with araldite, also wiping it around the float's seem to try to seal wherever the original leak was. Once cured the float was fine for the weekend's use and showed no signs of taking on fuel when the carb was stripped to have the replacement float fitted.

This is probably a combination of poorly made floats and nasty fuel.

Thanks Adam :D
Now sorted by a nice man at eurocarb ltd (delorto uk)
U.K. Supplied carbs have black floats the white or clear floats are only for our
