VHSH on a TS1 225

1/ How good on a TS1 225 standard kit with a BGM clubman

2/ Can you fit a filter on under panel some how

what sized VHSH ?
& what bikes it going on? S1/2, GP, etc...

A mate has one on his GP but runs without a filter!
I believe the breathsweet filter is ya best option without cutting your panel

I bought one of these at a dyno by a kart man and curves were far better than th 30 PHBH, ie power up from 20 tp 21.5. However kart knowledge is slightly different from a gravity fed tuned lambretta. So after reading up I changed the float needle to 3.5. The other MB recommendation for the similar VHSA carb was to drill away the half moon bit of alloy in the fuel inlet. But is this still a recommendation for the VHSH.

I got into vhsh carbs and bought the dyno of a kart friend, when i mentioned about half moon restriction he said "is the aperture smaller than the main jet or needle valve" so i never bothered drilling it.
That was good few yrs ago on RT220 and currently been on my Avanti 30hp for last 3 1/2 yrs with no problem.
Id recommend it if running other than petrol

That's what I also thought Sash. The 3.5 float needle and main jet is smaller, so even with the half moon restriction, the remaining aperture must be enough to keep the fuel bowl full. On that thought, I'm going to leave alone as that's one job less to do.

For the sake of 5 minutes I drill the 1/2 moon out as it's not going to hurt anything, besides most karts run a pump so there's always some pressure there compared to a Lambretta's gravity system.

I used to be indicisive, but now I'm not so sure. So as of Wacks post, I'll drill out. But do wonder what purpose the half moon bit served as Dellorto cast it for a reason. If it is a pumped supply, the restriction will increase the velocity of the fuel, but the quantity will still remain the same????

be sure to only remove the half moon

TS1 engine in and carb on but its within 10-15 mm of the panel so no chance of getting a filter on

I hear there's a left side reed valve inlet out now that can solve the issue, anyone got any pics of one with a breathe easy on at all ? thanks

Try a lth flat manifold gives you more clearance under your panel that's what I use
But I'm running a Mikuni 35
