TS1 225 stroking

Postby ROClarke » Sun Apr 02, 2017 11:11 am

Hi Guys
I have a PHBH30 with a what I think is a power jet.
Main 135
Pilot 53
Choke 70
Slide 50
Atomiser AV 268
Needle ?
Float valve 400

The scoot seems to be 4 stroking on half throttle but takes off when I give it a hand full and runs nicely flat out.
This morning I took the carb off to se if the needle could be lowered anymore, but it is already on the last grove.
Is the small screw next to the idle adjustment larger screw for mixture adjustment throughout the range is will it only effect tick over mixture ?
Cheers

Agree with this, change atomiser to AV 266 and maybe even an X7 needle if still boggy mid range. Do plenty of plug chops though.

You say its power jetted, can you confirm? I tend to run AV268 Atomisers with x7 in PHBH on TS1's

Yes, I am sure it is a power jet, it has a tube coming from the float chamber I seem to recall connected to some sort of jet on the side of the carb near the intake.

Doesn't sound like the standard power jet on this type.

Maybe post a picture?

I cannot seem to get the plug colour the nice chocolate colour, even when it is 4 stroking the electrode is light brown but very wet and the outside of the plug is black and wet.
The scoot is running much better now though and I am tempted to leave it but part of me would like to get the pug colour right.
Any help appreciated
