OKO 30 mm slight adjustment

Postby St George » Thu May 11, 2017 4:44 pm

My scoot is now starting first time and running nice it would seem. It is starting first time from cold BUT without the choke being engaged. The choke is seating ok. Could it be the mixture screw is too far out, I am starting it with the throttle closed.
Thank you in anticipation.

It's a while since I have had a Keihin but I think it is out to lean the mix as the screw is in front of the slide?

Logically, if it starts without choke you are too rich at start up so you may want to lean the mixture screw or consider a weaker pilot.

I have been as low as 32 pilot on that carb. Found it very difficult above 34 pilot.

Chris can you elaborate on the problems you had above 34. Mine is a 225, Scootopia Ancilotti Clubman fitted.

Chris in Margate. I pulled the pilot out today SIZE 40. No wonder it started without the choke from cold. I have fitted a 34 and will test it tomorrow when the insurance starts. Just got ripped off by Bikesure for a change of vehicle.
