Latest cyl kits

Postby Thackers » Sat Oct 05, 2024 12:21 pm

Hi fellas, I know this has been asked before some years ago so I thought with all the advances and new innovations it would be ok to ask again about latest kits centering on those for the 200cc casings.
My current set up is coming towards the end of it's life and a change will be needed, I was thinking along the lines of the casa mk3 ss 225 but ideally would like to keep the carb on the original left hand side which the casa doesn't. I have a left hand inlet by LTH but this is based on a TS1 type barrel. So are there any new offerings on the market that would get me into the realms of the casa performance but LH inlet. It's been awhile since I bought my mk1 Mugello 225 and had many alterations to increase it's power which I'm hoping to avoid this time around.
Thanks
Dave

Agreed, lots of detailed info that gives you a better understanding of what each kit has to offer. Just make sure that you're not only reading with peak BHP in mind, rather pay attention to the spread of power and RPM range that each works best at.

Thanks guys your very kind to reply. I have checked the 3rd green sticky manual but I was thinking that since 2018 when it was released there might be some new er kits now available. With not being a partaker of social media I'm more than a little out of the loop

Your best source of information will be - as already intimated - Sticky’s Complete Spanner’s Lambretta Kit Book.

You may currently have the SS225 kit in mind, albeit with a LH manifold, presumably because you have, or prefer, a large block case. Read the book, though, & you might just see that there is a kit designed from the outset to have a LH manifold & produce similar results to the SS, for potentially less money.

Max Quattrini rewrote the rule book when he designed the M210 TV kit &, thus far, no other kit manufacturers have caught up with his ethos.

I haven’t checked in a while, but the German Forums were buzzing with how they were evolving this kit, so that might be worth a look. Surely there have been even further gains made within the six years since this article was produced:
