GT Kit Carb Rubber Options

Postby Angry Bloke » Sun Mar 15, 2015 2:38 pm

Having a bit of a " laugh" trying to fit a 30 PHBH to a GT kit ( standard side ) with a 13ltr tank with cut out :?

It used to fit ok with an RT kit but the reed valve manifold appears to be shorter than the CDC type so the carb top hits the edge of the tank
Also the rubber is slightly nipped against frame tube

I have fitted a shorter 300mm shock which has dropped the barrel thus reducing the nip but I was wondering if there are any longer rubbers available
I've tried an MB rubber and a Mallossi rubber - the Mallossi is about 5mm longer and the diameter is slightly smaller which helps with both issues but is anyone aware of longer rubbers :?:

Cheers

I thought the 30mm manifolds were suitable for both sides now.

Have you got an old manifold? Or maybe it has to be used with a rubber from gran turismo?

It's a new kit so presume it's the dual direction version.

I didn't realise Richard sold rubbers but I just found it as part of his carb kits - I will contact him later to see if they are any different from the norm

Cheers :D

Or buy some car radiator hose and cut to whatever length you require and you`ll have some left over for future projects.

 thanks Ove - the Camlam rubbers are just lengths of hose I think
