EGT sensor location

I'm fitting an EGT but the instructions don't tell you where to locate the sensor, it just says "from the specified distance from the piston skirt" But doesn't actually say how far. I've done a search and can't find anything.
The sensor is a Gammatech and I'm fitting it to a franspeed with an Avanti top end.

Does anyone know how far it should be?

100mm from the skirt

That's 100mm..ish, you'll need to be a bit flexible as 100mm puts it right on the first bend and with the Franspeed, close to the spring locating loops. A few mm either way won't matter as the temps will be unique to your engine anyway.

Oh and dont fit it on the exposed splash guard side of the pipe, as this can cause variations in the readings
