GT200 setup ideas/feedback

Postby Luke » Sun Nov 22, 2015 9:26 pm

I have a LI125 engine which has an SX200 gearbox and I was considering a GT186 kit and 25mm dellorto carb. After voicing this to others I have been swayed towards the direction of modifying the casing to fit a GT200 kit!! This kind of makes sense as the cost of the casing mod would offset the cost of buying an LI150 gearbox which I would need with the GT186, but the GT200 kit would run ok with the SX200 gearbox, so I'm told by reliable sources!

So basically I am after any positive feedback/advice regarding the setup I think I am going to go with, and I've just totalled up a ball park figure of £1100, so I want to be sure before I part with my hard earned cash!!!!

So therefore the setup I am considering is a GT200 kit, retaining my SX200 gearbox with15/46 sprockets, MB Clubman exhaust, and a 25mm dellorto run thru an air box with a BGM air filter!!

Basically I want a nice rideable scooter which could sit at a nice 65mph thru a range of riding conditions, and not die uphill or in a bit of wind, but would still retain the original look and sound! I already have a TS1 225 so I don't need another beast!

Oh and I have a standard 4 plate clutch, would I need to upgrade to a 5/6 plate clutch???

Your feedback is much appreciated!
Cheers

you could run the sx box & 186 kit with a 47T clutch, saving your costs of modifying the casing, as for clutch, machine the clutch out for 5-plates & use the reedspeed red 4-plates, I've used this 1-set of plates all year in my TS230, missed only 4-rallies too & still just get a 14mm spanner on them!!! :o

I ran a standard clutch but with GT springs with my GT200 and that lasted around 2k miles, now running a Readspeed 5 plate (no modification required) so far so good.
