Looking for a LTH uprated clutch , but all stockists seem to be out of stock.Do the LTH plates fit in an aF cassette clutch? i have an AF one but have slippage even with race plates and springs on 34 bhp motor.

Jockeys Boxenstop have the mmw 7 plate clutch in stock which I think is
the same as the LTH one. Top class clutch but 499 euros

My AF clutch didn't have an oil groove in the bush either. I figured it would be ok as it only spins whilst the clutch is pulled.

Tried fitting the LTH clutch today, did up the centre nut just tight, and the whole thing was solid.(I have 2 shims behind it to give clearance to the iwis chain).Took it off again and found the bush on the spider had a small crack in it,I suppose tightening it up spread the bush and locked it all up.I hadnt noticed it before, although it didnt spin well when dry assembled,it had a tight spot. I did dremmel an oil groove in the bush and the split is opposite that, though I cant see how that would affect it.Anyone had this happen and any tips on fitting the LTH,I'm guessing its straightfoward like the standard item.

Just bare in mind that the bush is only in use while you hate the clutch lever pulled. My bush doesn't have a groove in it and I don't anticipate that being a problem.

Had an Lth clutch now for the 4 th season, no need to groove the bush and still on the same plates !! Also use ST90 gear oil, Marco advised it was possible to use this oil but that the clutch feel would be reduced slightly and be more on/ off if that makes sense.

You have gone on to resolve the issue by fitting an alternative bearing.

However, for the original plain bearing to have cracked in the manner it has there was some kind of 'interference’ in some way.

If the bearing was too long, then that would be the likely result. Neither the spigot nor the bore of the two main component parts should ‘move’ in their ‘size’ during the assembly to any extent other than a microscopic amount. They must be stable & the only thing likely to make them change is poor design or manufacture which is unlikely in this instance.

If the bearing was not too long, the chances are that something is out of square which would mean the faces that the bearing butts up to are out.

If the kit you bought was brand new, you’d be advised to inform the seller because they should be allowed the opportunity to comment & possibly make amends.

Hi Warkton, when I initially put the spider on the splines the nut holding it on didnt go all the way down as it should, this only occured when I did it up with a socket. The bush on the spider didnt look like it was all the way down when I looked at it when I got it,it was obviously pushed into place when I did the nut up with a socket. The bush was a very tight fit on the spider,I'm guessing it was too small on the internal diameter. It only came off with heat unlike the usual set up with standard and performance clutches. Its solved now, and will contact the supplier,so he can pass on to LTH.
