I had problems with the centre plug coming loose, so I was underwhelmed at first.

When I fixed that I replaced the 25phbl with a 30phbh and the sito ancellotti with a bgm clubman so I don't know how well it would have run without the loose plug.

Anyway I'm pleased with it now that I have it running right. There's a nice wee kick around 5000rpm and it runs up to 14bhp on mick abbey's lowish reading dyno. It puts out over 13 from about 5500 to 7300rpm where it cuts off.

I've geared it for 4.8 and always felt it was overgeared and will change the front sprocket to get 5.1. I'm confident it'll be much nicer with this sprocket and higher top speed. It may well reduce fuel consumption too as I won't have to keep dropping into third gear.

Rich Taylor was extremely helpful with my initial problems. It was also a pleasant surprise to fit parts that weren't sh1t.

Overall, happy with the kit and I'd buy another if it weren't for the fact that I like variety.

Do you remember carb jetting? (25 PHBL) Is it with remote filter?
Plus :) any idea what was the combustion chamber volume of the porcupine head?
I'll play with a similar set up and I'm never lucky :)

I looked it up this morning (jetting)
It's a remote filter
Main Jet 105
Neddle D24 lowest clip position
Neddle Jet AQ266
Slide 40
Pilot 60
Choke 70

Of interest when it was setup on the Dyno - The exhaust was swapped to measure the difference

here's the figures
Red graph is with a BGM big bore.17.7hp 13.8ftlbs
Green is ADS3 20.2hp & 20.2ftlbs
Blue is a Franspeed Race 22.1hp & 18.4ftlbs

This was however the volume of the cylinder head bowl being to large. The head was taken by Chris to Darrell Taylor and reprofilled

I hope this is just a one off !When you buy a kit, including cylinder head, you expect it to run perfectly, after all the kit with head costs £525.

Donnie,

What happened?! Was this a case of hitting a low slung expansion on humps, which is the typical cause of such an issue on alloy kits, Rapidos, etc., or did this simply fracture off?

4mph over a speed bump in france, the tsr evo caught the crest of the speed bump which (for some reason, possibly for the gate to roll on) had a one inch steel bar all along its length.

Immediate revs like a bugger and knew i'd at least ripped a stud, turns out that one stud snapped out (still see the remainder, but instead of the other one ripping out or snapping too, the cylinder port snapped instead :-(

Not exactly the sort of issue that you can easily 'bodge' to get home either.

nope, the group luckily had a van in france to get me to the port, wrapped wire round the cylinder and exhaust, filled the gap with a heck of a lot of threebond and rode it on the ferry and off again the other end! LOUD!!

then AA Home.

Having tonight stripped top end off im kinda surprised at the casting of the exhaust port compared to standard cylinders, can see why it snapped off :|

Will do some photos tomorrow to show what i mean.
