Need help with a tuning kit, how do you tune your scooter, which kit should I choose, and all general tuning and modifcations questions are for in here.

hi , boost ports for a piston ported cylinder . pros and cons . shape width height etc ?

There are a few ways of doing this but you can't simply cut them off the top of the inlet port, not unless you fit a reed manifold. You can cut them off the existing transfers, you can cut them above a liner, you can do various things... just not cut them straight off the inlet.

What are you trying to achieve with the addition of boost ports? Yes, you can add boost ports to add extra transfer area, so allowing you to reduce transfer timing and get better torque at lower revs, but many motors already have transfer volume enough because of the width and durations... so you might end up with no benefit, unless you're doing this with specific duration changes in mind.

Piston port motors have serious limitations for adding boost ports successfully.

have a look on Mick Abbey's web site in Harrogate, he's added 3 x extra transfers & a boost port to mine & a mates 175 cast iron barrels, added a boost port to my Gori (couldn't add transfers due to barrel wall thickness :cry: ) & tarted up my TS1 230 barrel 8-)
