has anybody ever had one of these and if so what are they like and are they worth getting just to get a cheap power increase ?

You get what you pay for and these can be of varying quality. I have had 3 which I have used for experimenting but after blowing over £700 on them (including better pistons and a reed valve) I realised that money was better spent a proper kit.

You could get lucky but even the seller is saying they need honing before us which isn't very confidence inspiring. The ports are likely to be the main problem as the castings are VERY rough and needs a fair bit of fettling to get them even which will require access to porting tools or pay someone else to do it (more cost).

wouldn't bother, picked up just a barrel from a ebay supplier - awful quality , ports all over the place, the liner wasn't even in flush with the ally jacket and the threads on the inlet and outlet were badly drilled and tapped. Better off getting a proper kits such as a Casa or Mugello or if you're on a budget a old school iron barrel with a 175cc conversion . Paul

Cheers guys , was just wondering as it's just for the curry burner I'm messing with , I've got a Casa for my special I'm building just was looking for a cheaper option as I don't want to go mad as the Mrs keeps giving me those looks , just looking at the gori sport kit £320 delivered from Rimini bit more than what I wanted to spend but £100 cheaper than a mugello /Casa/rt

The casa one is cheaper than the eBay one in the not-very-long-run.

You'll spend time and money on porting, head skim, piston, sending for replacement. Then in the end give up and buy a casa or gori etc.

I've been through it and I know I'm not alone.

Might be worth considering modifying the casings to accept a standard 200 barrel.

Cost is roughly £200 plus barrel and piston (and decent carb' and exhaust), but if you decide to kit it you're in with the big boys

Realistically, there is no such thing as a "cheap power increase" This cylinder is bored out so far that its abilty to shed heat evenly is severely comprimised. The piston is probably made from cheese and so the chance of you getting from A to B without a seizure isn't good.

Agree.The standard 125 is a death trap.
