I think i will have to machine the inside of the mag housing to get the stator further in, so it will line up with the flywheel pickups.

Why don't you go for one of Anthony Tambs' external pick-up? You can retain the existing stator and there is no need to machine the inside of the mag flange, and you can adjust the timing with the motor running.

ive got a bit of wiggle room with the tank, i can move it a bit more forward, and can probably twist carb a bit to clear the throttle cable, i will need a long cable as well, ive done a bit more to the clutch, more pics in the next episode !

You could always fit a 'snake-head' carb top or weld a curved, through tube in the tank, though I often run elbows atop the carb when LH manifolds are shortened for use with bigger carbs as they can get too close to the toolbox. Helps if you mimic the Serveta throttle arm return spring in any case...

The photo of the case inlet and reed block seat illustrated why I decided to have the inner edge of the webs chamfered for flow on my case induction motor. Whether it makes any difference or not is another matter

yes it is, but ive checked and just enough room , gear and clutch cables are tight, but will fit.

thanks adam, yes flowing the crank wasnt something i had thought about until i saw yours, but crank is installed now so is staying as is, mine does have a big boost port though,im hoping that will help, and im going to enlarge the exhaust port slightly before the top end gets fitted, im hoping it will make good power, had to reduce my packer plate a bit to get the port timings lowered a bit, still got to skim the head.
