7 stud mugello head

I've got a large block mugello cylinder which is 4 stud, the head is 7 stud. Can this be used or would
it be like a colander?

I’d say it could be used.
I assume that when you place the 7 hole head on top of the cylinder, you can’t see into the barrel through the vacant 3 holes....

I can see quite a bit of the gasket face through the 3 surplus holes is what's bothering me. I got it like this.

OK, that is pretty much what I was expecting to see. As long as there is a continuous band of ali head gasket around the top of the barrel (which there will be), then you should be fine.
