I need to change the gearbox in my TS1 engine. I recently had some porting work and a rebuild done and was told it had an LI125 box in it whereas I was told it was a 150 box when I first had it built. I find the gap and drop between 3rd and 4th too much so do I go for a close ratio box, to stay in the power band more or would a standard LI150 be good enough? Gearing is currently 47 X 18. The scooter is mainly used for touring and puts out around 27bhp through a TSR pipe.

LI150 will give you more of a grin factor than your LI125 III
but you'll have to re-check your 18x47, more likely 16x46,
give you same top end

Got LI150 with 26 hp same setup as you putting mine up to 17 /46 4.6 find 16 /46 very revy .
