Hello all, I need a recessed head for a 66.5mm lambretta piston. Has anyone had one done? And who did it? Thanks Fred

Are you saying that your piston pokes out the top of the barrel, and so you need a recess in the head so the piston doesn't hit it?

Or do you mean that the head pokes into the barrel, in order to centralise over the bore (like recent Mugello heads)?

Sorry should've been more explicit. I need the combustion chamber to drop into the bore 1.5 to 2mm
Thanks fred

Check out the BGM/RT heads, yes they do an 8 bolt version that comes with the kit but they also do a standard 4 bolt pattern.

WHY?

Is it not the barrel that needs to be lowered?.

I could shorten the barrel. But I'd rather do it this way to set up port timings.

Yes I do Scotty. I've used a different top end on this casing now. It's a casing with big transfers and a boost port. I never got a cylinder done to match. It had that much welding, I had to get base and mag faces skimmed. I didn't want to bin the casing. So I've used packers to block the welded ports. I don't know how this will affect running, as it's an experiment. I've now fitted an old dj 205, and it set up fine.

Robbospeed sell recessed heads, for both small block and large block engine spacing.

They are much heavier, and therefore a better heat sink than a standard head.
