Has anyone fitted one of the Gori kits? The description on their website is quite amusing!

I think one of our lot has one fitted hullygully on here , I'm sure he will be along shortly to tell us

I've got one in my S3, but being a novice I don't know I can offer a technical critique? What I can tell you is it all went together without issue on a Spanish casing. I didn't like the inlet manifold, too long and doesn't suit my preferred rubber carb mount with internal ridge, so I used a different one. Set up was pretty easy paired with a PHBH 26/RAMAIR and Gori 42mm clubman with Varitronic ignition. I didn't do anything more technical than put it all together as to be honest, I wouldn't know what to do to improve it.

It runs great but no record breaker and am currently using it to commute. My route hasn't got any fast roads really so 60mph is about as fast as I get. It may go quicker but havent had a chance to try. I think I'm getting around 50-60mpg which is similar to the Mugello 186 in my Ratter.

When I switch to my Ratter (when I'm happy with the clutch), I'm planning on trying a 50mm Gori on it, as I feel it is a little restricted by the 42mm, but like I said, I'm a novice so I could be wrong.

I have run a Gori Sport Barrel and done over 1000 miles, ride it everyday.
It comes with matched intake manifold for 22mm carb.
I run it with a 22 dellorto through air box, variatronic and an Ancelotti pipe.
I thrash it as all who know me know!
Cruises 55 nicely and topped out at 68 on GPS. GP200 gearbox.
I ran a TV175 barrel on this bike before and which was sweet but after 6000 miles a small end gudgen pin clip came out.
Real difference torquey especially mid range.
My friend is trying to buy the barrel from me and then sir-come shall probably try the Race barrel. Ports much bigger and come with manifold for PHBH which is fine but I felt originally on this bike I wanted it to feel like a slightly quicker than standard GP200 with an original engine feel, ie not to racy, lumpy or non standard looking.

Just bought a gori race to fit to my lambretta, so your review off the sport kit is great.
Do you know much about the race kit or know anybody who is running it.

Out of interest I checked the Gori site online. I think it's only fair to give them a fair crack of the whip, so to speak. I've seen a lot worse when it comes to mangling the English language, and it all looks quite professionally done. Prices are high, even given the strength of the pound, or should I say the weakness of the euro right now, but were I looking for a high performance exhaust that looked reasonably standard I would want to know more about their exhaust called the "Racing". I think it's 50mm and is clearly an expansion chamber in disguise, which certainly has appeal. When I started going down the tuning route in my youth my first expansion was an AF Clubman with an OTT VW tailpipe, but this one looks even smarter. I am very interested to hear how you get on and what set up you decide on with the Race kit.

I read about one chap doing Milan to Taranto on a Gori kit, sop they can be pushed.

My next kit will probably be a Barlow one, I love his hands on approach using old school iron barrels.

I would love to hear from anyone with one.

I have a Gori racing kit with Gori Sport exhaust, PHBH 26, Ramair filter, cyclone box. Probably not the fastest but it's solid and reliable, never let's me down and loves pulling from low revs. A joy to ride really and feels like it will just go on and on forever. It must have done 2500 miles by now easy with no issues.

2 yrs ago I bought one of the sport versions direct from Gori. I wasn't too happy with the smaller than gasket exhaust port, so I went to AF's who took the barrel up to a 'S-Type' 80's tune, the piston was still a thin 2 x ringed meteor 66mm dia, the head & gasket also remained as std. My carb on this kit was a 25mm dia jetex with a 130 main jet with the greater angled Gori inlet manifold (with 200cc stud centres) & BGM filter & 42mm ancillotti. The gearbox being SX 200 with 15T x 47T & timing set @ 17 deg with a ducati light flywheel.
After several loose head & burnt thro gasket experiences I had to settle for a 1.2mm thk RB20 head gasket, spring washers with the nuts & gasket goo.
I also uprated the gearbox to a RS/Omega 5-speed gearbox (SX 150 1st - 4th & SX 200 5th) which allowed me to cruise @ 50/55mph. I was happy with this setup, untill the rings gunged up (rockoil???), then I took the barrel & new Wossner piston to Mick Abbey (moior cycle tuner of Harrogate) who tweaked the ports abit, opened up the transfers in the bore, added an extra transfer port in the piston & above the inlet port in the barrel. I'm about to add a PHBH 26mm delly, that'll breath still thro' the BGM filter. I'm also adding a Porcupine head, which needed opening up to 66mm & this required 4 longer cyl. head nuts, because the tightening down faces are further down into the head & a socket fouls the cooling fins!!
I have just attempted to setup the squish distance, only to need a RB20 2.0mm thk head gasket along with an alloy base of 0.3mm!!!! Luckilly enough Ben @ AF's had measured the barrel's length prior to his tune, Gori top & tail their barrels by 0.5mm, so be aware.
