Need help with a tuning kit, how do you tune your scooter, which kit should I choose, and all general tuning and modifcations questions are for in here.

Mugello 225, 60/110, PHBL25, Indan 200 gearbox

These are what I have in the scooter/on the shelf.
What are my options for a decent touring bike?
Prefer a box pipe and being able to cruise at a genuine 60 without drinking too much fuel but with enough spare "oomph" to overtake or have fun in the twisties.
Would a ron moss clubman work and/or would my 25mm carb be too small? What gear ratios should I be considering for low-rev touring with that set up?

Considering that it will be a 230cc then I’d choose the RM box unless you want too wait for the newish bgmV4s when it’s released, the 25 delly is a tad small but see no reason why it wouldn’t work ok. Gearing will be ur biggest ball ache I’d imagine with ur gp box having 5.2 fd. I’d plump for 19/46 giving u 4.8fd or if you don’t want too change the rear 47 sprocket then a 20t front giving 4.7fd.
I’m sure there will be plenty of other fine tuners along too say what’s good and what’s not ;)

If I were to make changes based upon your preference for a Ron Moss exhaust (probably the best choice along with Ralph Saxelby's) then presuming that CR & squish are optimised, I would obtain a better carburettor, the PWK (blueprinted) being the obvious choice. In my experience, you could even go as large as a 34 with no issues & the beauty of the PWK (besides cost, ease of set-up, the fact that they are not some dynosaur four stroke round slide carb bodged to suit etc  ) is their ability to work well with adequate air filtration. That in itself will improve MPG as the elbow will entrap any blowback.

My engines tend to be probably a tad more 'optimised' than yours (current 'on road' include TS 70 x 60 with additional crankcase porting; Rapido 71 x 61 ported) but both run extremely well with a 34. Yet the same carburettor worked just as well on a slightly tweaked 200.

I'd shop around for a 32 if I were you.

Get the top end sorted & it should be a pleasure to then think about your gearing. If all goes well, a 20 x 47 might be in range, but 19 x 46 may be the best compromise if 'you must do it now' ;)

IMO the best thing that you can do with a Mugello 225 is fit a small reed valve. It totally transformed mine from being distinctly unimpressive to being the best road engine I've ever had. My set up is now LTH small reed block, Asso TS1 piston (slightly modified with half moon on inlet side), TMX27 carb, Li150 gbox with 17 x 46 (4.6) and CST3 exhaust. The best compliment I can give it is that it doesn't need a 5 speed gearbox, it's that tractable.
