Has anybody had issues with the new Ducati/ Casatronic ignition?
I fitted one to my GT240 straight from the box the Engine kicked into life all good, or so I thought, next time I tried to start the engine- no spark
Spoke to Casa and they were on the ball and sent me a replacement kit, this kit wouldn’t spark at all but they suggested I check the the pickup height and adjust according, after fecking about for hours making spacers and testing and measuring I finally it the engine sparking and firing every time...that was until today, scooter was starting fine and then lost the spark again...
Sil cases with Casa Cooler and GT Crank... any help or ideas would be appreciated
Cheers

I had the same issue - just like you I got a replacement sent immediately by rlc - but that did t work either- I had to use thick gasket paper under the stator to to make the pick up work . All good since
Similar set up
Gt240
Gt crank
Gt case
Casacooler

I think Mikey sent me a copy of your text to him, so I did raise the stator on the backplate and it worked...but only for a while

oh the joys of Lambretta ownership

Just come across this post, what was the outcome? Did you resolve? As I’ve got same problem now with no spark.

Ive run mine without issue now for years - I have recently replace the paper and spaced the stator with thin washers between the stator and mag housing

I would suggest it prudent to confirm that the LT coil is functioning properly before messing with pick up alignment.
Connect a multimeter between the green ignition wire and chassis. ( A moving iron analogue meter works best here, but it can be done with a digital meter)
Kick the engine over with the plug out and ignition on.
You should see a reading of around 60+VAC. (This figure should rise to around 200VAC on a running engine.)
LT coils on CDI ignitions are notorious for breaking down. It often starts out as an intermittent problem, which then turns permanant.
Its not unusual for new stators to suffer LT coil failure within a few miles from fitting and it seems to afflict all suppliers to some degree or other.
Also, check and confirm a good bonding wire connection from chassis to engine casing.

Good idea, and thanks for the detailed info, appreciate that.
