Amazing. That's more powerful than an RGV250!

That will need something extra special in the transmission.

Either some extreme means of reducing shock loads &/or a gearbox manufactured specifically to deal with the torque transmission. The clutches available are no longer the weakest link & actually excaperate the issue. Slipping clutches actually helped absorb shock loads. IMO you can forget about shiny red springs (no pun intended!) helping on the front sprocket, although, with research, there could be an ultimate solution to the relatively crude OEM design....

I'd even be looking toward a special three speed gearbox as one means of increasinging the contact area. Teeth shear @ their root. Even OEM principles of 3/8" pitch duplex chain may be on the limit, so I'd be thinking triplex.

i wouldn't want to be launching a sprinter with so much power (the torque for which will inevitably be high. if not now, then ' a later date) with the uncertainty that the gearbox will grenade.

Whilst I'm on my soapbox  I reckon wheelspin, to an extent, will help so we might get to see wheelie bars on a Lambretta sprinter. That said, how much 'Lambretta'' is this type of engine?

That all said, a fascinating prospect, even if opinions might vary upon the 'spirit of what of the OEM Lambretta remains' when all is considered.

Yes, an interesting point. My own opinion is that cases should be 'standard', ie not fancy Dan modern cases, but that just means I accept UNI cases whereas someone else might argue that they are also fancy Dan, just less so.

I don't have any interest in water cooling or ktm barrels etc, it feels like cheating to me. But the next man might just as well argue that a TS1 is the same thing but less.

It's an argument without a possible conclusion .Discussion is better, but unlikely, especially if you were to raise it on a well known platform starting with F.

'so we might get to see wheelie bars on a Lambretta sprinter'.....................
If its of any interest, wheelie bars were used by Frank Osgerby circa 1981, unsuccessfully I might add, as they created a somewhat unstable machine at the startline, Frank took them off.......................
The solutions to this dilemma, as I'm sure some are aware.......
Stretch the frame, or move the engine back, or try to alter the seating position, or ?
Eric Cope, Mike Pacey and Dean St Leger White have gone for the latter..................so they have'nt altered the standard frame really.........

Wheelie bars appear to find favour on the Continent where much shorter sprints are more common place.

Unfortunately, the Vespa small frames & autos would seem to dominate the sport in terms of numbers.....
