Hi - I've bought some new casa fork links with the studs so I can fit front dampers - the cups are shallow, like the GP style links for fork rods with the ball bearing.
Question is - can I use my original LIS rods ( fixed dome ends) , with these new links or must I use GP style ones?

Have you tried sitting one of the Li rods into the links , do they fit ok or is the “ ball end “ too big ? you might have to swap the rods as well ( easier to fit though thanks to the loose ball bearing )

hi - they fit ok on the bench, (spare LI rod, new links), however the cup is about 8mm deeper on a LI link compared to the shallow GP style one. I think ill just give it a try with teh existing LI rods....cheers

The loose balls on the GP set up are considerably smaller than the fixed ball Li type hence the deep and shallow links. MB GP rods are good quality and reasonably priced. I've always converted any Li set ups to GP but I also drill GP forks to accept bolt in buffers. Trying to fit GP rubbers usually ends with me stabbing myself in the hand at some stage.

Spent money on getting knack'd GP forks refitted with GP rubber buffer mounts ONCE... Why bother, we've all got drills, ain't we...?!
