Anyone know the part number for the dual stage reeds for a TS1 standard block please. The ones I have appear too small to seal. RDV016 ?

Reading around, apparently the Boyesen dual reeds don’t fit the AF block.

I think thats right, a mate of mine has just had his bike built by Harry and told me it had 2 stage reeds, so was expecting a yam block and packer, but no packer when i looked.
The block looked standard thickness and it was using a standard AF manifold.

Im waiting on a answer..... Seeing him Thursday on route to Arundel

In the end I bought a pattern RD yamaha reed block and fitted the Boyesen Power Reeds the owner supplied before I saw your comment as I had to get the motor rebuilt before Arundel today.

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do Wack ;)
Now apparently the original Af block is the most strongest on power gain throughout the rev range compared to the latest incarnations that are out on sale. The only difference is that Harry modified them too suit the latest flange rubbers 8-)

Finally got the 2 stage reeds from Harry Barlow.

Not checked them on a block yet as not at home.

I have 2 different type AF standard blocks one with the metal reed stops and one with the small spreader plate holding the reeds in.

These HB ones are slotted like the AF reeds to fit both blocks (different screw centres).

My question is do I fit with plate or the reed stop??

Be interesting to see if a performance improvement as they are considerably more expensive than standard vetronite or carbon

The probability of reed feathering and breakage is less with reed stops.

I run reed stops in all my TS1s so was inclined to do so with the two stage.

HB away at moment so will see what he says.

Will fit them to a block at weekend and see if any obviuos issues

Use with reed stops Gaz
I’ve had the smaller of the 2-stage petals snap off in boost port area without guards fitted

Stops it is... That was my choice.

Ive got 2 blocks without the stops just the plates, as ive never used them always favored the stops.

Its a next year over haul of the GP motor... New clutch set up, rings, reeds etc.

To confirm the HB 2 stage reeds defo fit the standard AF block perfectly.
Check against a Yam block... They dont fit
So i dont think they are actually Boyesen, not that im worried by that. HB will have done his homework
So im happy, will fit into bike in due course.... With stops

Yes, they have 2 petals per petal; a thinner one in the centre that opens quicker to give better throttle response, with a thicker / larger petal that comes in to play slightly later but adds support and improved reliability, flowing as a single petal at higher RPM/vacuum pressure.

If you do a search for Boyesen reeds then you should find lots of images. These were the favourites until V-Force took it to the next step.
