After advice for a lad who’s after fitting a mid range tank in his series 2 , he got one second hand but it was too tight when we tried fitting it and fuel tap with standard outlet was sat on the engine mount even with rear exit it was tight , i have the SSP ones in mine and they fit great .

So was just wondering if anyone has any recommend/ dealers who supply please ?

I had a nightmare trying to fit mine in a Spanish S2. To be clear mine is a bolt in version.

I had the joint / lip removed at the front and rewelded up to stop it rubbing on the toolbox - even then it binds at the back. Its a nightmare to fit and impossible not to remove some paintwork along the way.

No idea why they didnt make them slightly smaller - 1 litre less would be suffiecent.

There is a massive gap in the market for a quality mid-range tank. I know Oiltek and Avanti made them at one point but both now stopped. I want to retain my tool box - so limited for options. Standard tank doesnt hold enough.

Agree exactly the same Spanish series 2 took toolbox out to get it in but the lips front and back are to big what’s your tap position like ?

I use a rear exit tap - It misses the mount just about - but I cant take off the rear shocker without snapping the tap.

Sorry didnt read the small print - put it on my Li series 3.
The link says it will fit a series 2
Give them a call and ask- they are generally quite helpful.

I got mine from Just Lambretta, it made of mild steel and it's the one that looks like a std one but bigger fitted a treat without any issues

Hi Toddy
Yes I have one in my Spanish S2, & right enough it's as tight as a Nun's chuff. Mine was from Martin (Corrado on here), I think his business is 'Just Lambretta' ..... was probably over 10 years ago mind.

It's a strap type as opposed to bolt in, & I had to remove the standard toolbox to fit it, but slotted it back home when tank was in .... with great difficulty I might add.
I even had to shave the rubbers down where it sits on the rear frame loop.

I have a front facing tap, which misses the mount by approx 5mm.

If you send me your email I'll post some pics I've just taken, as I've never posted photos on here. If it's a piece of cake I'll have a go, but I don't really want to be opening a 'Photo Bucket ' account or the like.
