Carbs

I’m in the middle of stripping my series 3 to check over seals bearings etc, but the carb sits there. Gets checked and cleaned now and again. We’re often replacing slides, needles, atomisers, jets, etc. but what sort of lifespan (in miles) should we expect from the bodies?

I can’t remember the last time I bought a 30mm Dellorto, which means I’ve been using the same one for a lot of miles. I wouldn’t even like to guess, but many thousands.
