Hi, I recently bought a kit from Rimini and thought I'd buy one of the clip fitting tools as my eye's and fingers are not like that of a younger man
Not sure of which size to get I ordered the 15mm sized tool forgetting the piston pin is 16mm. My question is will the tool I bought deliver the clip into the piston as it should or somehow distort/weaken the clip?

No, I ordered the wrong sized tool and could not at first understand why it would not work.

Bumbag! I did ask the question on my online order but it must have somehow got overlooked. Never mind I'll just get the clips that don't need any fancy tools.

So, after looking at the tool it seems the cone shaped clip holder/ driver is the critical component. Mine being 15mm needs to be 16mm to deliver the clip? Therefore would careful filing to open it up to 16mm work? or even asking someone with a lathe to machine it? It just goes against the grain to bin the tool and be defeated into buying different Circlips .Or am I really sweating the small stuff ? Thanks

You have to ask yourself is it the hassle, just buy the right one!

That's exactly the conclusion I eventually came up with............"Out of stock" seems to be the answer

Having viewed the video via SLUK, the bore definitely & probably the pin size would require altering. I’m not saying it can’t be done, but if it is a ‘proper’ tool, then the circlip holder should be hardened to obviate wear. Try running a file across it & if there is a tendency to skid, then it’s likely hard
