EGT Sensor Probe

Using a Skydrive EGT gauge, Nobby welding on the boss to a Taffy downpipe for the probe to screw into.
Can anyone give any ideas to optimum positioning down from the manifold to locate the boss?

100 mm down from piston skirt is the usual position.

And get him to put it to the rear of the pipe so it is protected a bit

Cheers lads, echoed echoed on other forums too. Zorst in Reading, motor in Oxford so Measured from skirt to bottom of stub... 68mm so if he mounts boss 32mm down the downpipe from the stub flange behind if poss, should be bingo.
