Hello,

I have a very noisy drive chain, upon inspection there is loads of slack on it , problem is its a 19 x 47 sprocket set up. so not standard gp sprockets. I have noticed a quarter link in the chain which i removed thinking it would tighten the chain, i cannot even get the front sprocket back onto the splinned shaft - any ideas would be great.

cheers neil.

Think you need a stretched 82 link chain with 19/47 cogs mate.

19 x 47 is a big combination which demands a long chain (longer than 82 link chain).

You make have to reinstate the half-link, and look at a different chain tensioning system, such as a pull-down chain tensioner. These can be combination chain tensioners, that can push-up or pull-down.

If you can't do this, you might need to change your gearing to suit your chain, by fitting 19x 46.
