super steel on engine case.

I've just found out why my engine case is drawing gearbox oil into the top end, where I've had the cases welded there is a small pin sized hole going into the transfer port. Will it be ok to use super steel to fill it up or should I strip it all down and get it ali welded.
If I was running a standard top end I'd use the super steel but I've got an avanti top end fitted and obviously it will be an expensive mistake if it doesn't work.

Chemical metal will be fine, just rebate the hole a bit to get a better bond. You could always pressure test after to be sure.
