A mates nipped his alloy barrel. I was thinking of using 800 grade wet and dry to clean the ally deposits off the bore.
What grade do others use?
Thanks fred

I did it on a TS1 years ago - very mild nip cleaned up barrel and piston and re ringed it - no issues
The TS has a piece of nickisil missing - but still in use with many miles under its belt since
Did it again on a mates T5 Malossi cylinder (that got a new piston)
I cant recall what i used but i did it was fine with plenty of wd40
I think with nickisil its obvious if it will go again - mind i bet a few would have said the TS above was knackered !
Its worth a punt

Shame we don't have the old site,
Some swore by an acid that dissolves the Ali but can't pit the nicalsil.
Obviously care to be taken.

clean the barrel well when youre finished, if you've got any clean light coloured micro fibre cloths you can wipe the bore down after cleaning as it will pickup most of the very fine bits of abrasives that tends to stick to the Nikasil.

Kitchen sink and hot soapy water is quite effective too followed by a thorough flush through the transfers with the running tap

^^^ That was it.
Quick on, quick off.
Worth drilling a 1mm hole through the piston in line withe the nip.
Can't do any harm.
