Posted: Thu Apr 16, 2015 1:29 pmGaz I had one fitted on my S2 for Davos so it covered some miles. I agree that they aren't restrictive when clean. However, every afternoon I had to stop and clean the filter as it was saturated. This was on a reed valve GT186 too!
I replaced it with a breath sweet when I got back which is a bit more restrictive ( partly as the panel pushes the rubber in slightly) but I don't have to clean the foam all the time!
The carb is a PHBH 30 which I jetted. However, a dyno session confirmed that my jetting was correct. Just saying in case you think carb was at fault. May be better with a smaller carb??

Posted: Thu Apr 16, 2015 3:41 pmI had my Mugello 186 kitted SX dyno'd at Diablo and then fitted one later to try and stop some of the spitback, had no problems with it at all apart from having to wash it occasionally.

I can confirm that, it was wringing wet and I believe the glue gave up in the end Paul?
Personally I can see how they seal properly with the amount of up and down movement of the suspension especially if loaded for a rally

Yes, mate. Well remembered
Being a Series 2 panel with a significant gap between the carb and the panel, I had to glue mine to the panel. Petrol and glue don't mix.
