Any MTECH feedback?

Hi all,

I've had very reliable service from 2 Agusto units on 2 different bikes and am now looking at fitting a bolt-on advance/retard unit to a different bike and am torn between 6000 and 7000 units, which then makes it sensible that I consider other variable units now on the market. As the MTECH has been out for a while, and having bought plenty of 'new' products that have proven not to be all that they promised, I'd like to hear from anyone (by PM if you would rather) that might have had problems with MTECH units... if indeed anyone has?

Thanks in advance,

Adam

Never had a minutes problem with my M-Tech on my GP Adam, however it was fitted by Martin Cook @ Chiselspeed before a dyno session. Not really a noticeable difference but there is peace of mind that it will be running cooler when retarded. Also got one on the TS but not had it long enough to comment.

Wouldn't be without one, easy to set up, and adjust if needed.

Thanks for all of the feedback so far. Just one PM stating that someone had issues with theirs.

The only issue being that these are currently not in stock ;)

Thanks

Adam

Having been riding standard machines most of the last year, and having just jumped on my standard TS1 set at 17 degrees static, I can see that if the M Tech is reliable, it would make my TS1 less spluttery around town.

Any more feedback please before I buy one?

Just looking at an old dyno graph of this engine with a Franspeed Supertourer and phbh 30, it reaches peak power of 20bhp around 6200 revs and is about 18bhp at 8000 revs

Tried running my Avanti with a Franspeed Race and TMX 35 Mikuni but It was struggling round town at low revs. Fitted the M-tech and it cleaned it up noticeably. that's 3 years ago and still going strong.........tempting fate there I think :?

Would certainly recommend them for a tuned engine.

You know me and gadgets Paul, I have an MTech which I haven't used yet my the TS1 is absolutely great around town and slow traffic. As you will recall from Germany last year, we had some VERY lengthy crawls in traffic, about 50 odd minutes in one traffic jam? Admittedly my TS1 wasn't as happy as your Rally but it didn't bog down and in most situations behave just like a standard scoot. I do run it open mouthed though.
I will be putting the MTech on the Avanti when I get round to rebuilding it as it ran it's best before the Augusto failed.

My TS1 is a different beast to my GT186 on many different levels. I never needed, or thought about, an advance/ retard set up for the GT186 but I do feel that under about 4300 revs, the TS1 is not as smooth as it could be. The air/fuel ratios are within acceptable tolerances, according to the dyno done a few years back (nowt really changed since).

I shall give an MTech a go in a few weeks. Cheers.

^... doesn't sound like a great combo of parts. Perhaps fine individually but not great together if you can't get a regular function.
