Hi i am getting a fair amount of headset 'judder' just above tick over and also i get vibration through the headset at certain rpm(quite low) whilst riding. I have changed :- engine mounts. Front and rear springs crank from a 58/107 AF welded to a chiselspeed built 60/110 . Made sure the inlet manifold and carb arnt touching anything . I had a GT 186 kit on first and now a Imola kit and hqd the vibrations with both. The only thing i havent replaced is fork bearings but the steering is nice and loose with no play in the bearings that i can feel. The engine was stripped and rebuilt with all new bearings and seals etc. I dont no what else to change / do to cure this so have basically lived with it as its not unrideable by any means but wondered if anyone had any advice or ideas on this.
Thanks. Baz

Have you checked the 3 bolts that hold the clamp to the headset and also for any play in the throttle tube and gearchange ?

If your carb settings are miles out it can cause this
I had problems with my carb recently and the vibration when pulling away etc was horrendous
Sorted carb and vibration gone

thanks for your replies. the carb is set quite rich at the min but as I say I had this same problem when it was obviously jetted lean (holed imola piston). it vibrates the headset if I hold it just slightly above tick over when on the stand and by this I mean you can see the headset juddering and also when riding I get some vibration through the headset in each gear when I reach a point in the rev range , not too high in the revs and this does clear with slightly more revs. ive changed mounts springs front and rear barrel kits , no play in forks although they are old bearings in there. I have resigned myself to having to live with this as its ok but just bugging me.
Lammys for you I suppose

Hi hullgully no its fine under braking mate just the symptons i mentioned in previous posts. Where as the headset will judder when on stand at around 1600(ish) rpm the vibration i get when riding at at certain rpm is no where near as bad just annoying. Prob more like its resinating than vibration.
