Hi there,
I am considering changing to a Mugello 186 kit from the current AF 175 cylinder kit I have on my Li150 series 3. I have been advised to change the crank to a gp version which I think would mean changing the flywheel? Is there anything else that would be advisable to change to suit this kit exhaust/carburettor maybe also. The current exhaust is a 42mm clubman and carb is 26mm Jetex. Thanks in advance for any help.

carb and exhaust will be fine may need to re jet

if you change crank yes new fly wheel
do you already have electronic ignition?

what gear box do you have
may to to alter drive ratio to get best from the kit depends on what you want it to do and riding style and use

Hi Terryj,
I already have electronic ignition. As regards usage I occasionally have a pillion so require some more grunt to handle this. To my knowledge it has standard gearing for LI150 series 3. Thanks.

Do you know what crank is in it now? Most, not all, people would change to GP crank when changing to 12 volt.

Hi Corrado,
No I am not sure which crank I currently have. The flywheel is a Ducati one if that gives any clues.

You are right Donnie, the 198 seems more popular now than the 186, but even the 186 with it's modern design and performance enhancements is more than just 10cc over a basic 175?

Its 11cc......

Will i gain much from this conversion as i am only increasing by 11 cc? With the KIt maybe also new exhaust, stronger crank , replacement carb for 26mm jetex ,new flywheel to suit crank and probably new seals bearings etc its not going to be cheap. Not including clutch upgrade.

I also run a Vespa 150 Sprint that has a 166 malossi and is fed by a Si 20.20d carb that currently wipes the floor with the AF 175 Stage 4 cylinder i have on the Li 150.
