Having trouble setting squish,I'm guessing the measurement has to be constant but I'm getting 1.4 to 2mm,when using a length of solder put down the plug hole, and bluetac on the piston crown.I've only got 3mm solder btw. What is the ideal squish measurement, reading up it seems 1.5mm.What would be the effect of a larger squish ie 2mm?

Ispanish barrel and Indian case, gave me 1.9 with no gaskets
Gave table top 14 tourques and a linear "curve" to 17 bhp @7250 revs
Ran fine no issues at all

Ignoring the Random I before Spanish, the first line is the components used, Country of origin included as there are differences in height of said components, 1.9 is the resulting squish obtained. I didn't feel the need to add the unit used as the O.P had already done so and as mm is the unit most commonly used to express measurements in engineering and measurements for squish I thought 1.9 would suffice.
Second line the performance derived from the above components i.e torque and bhp and a description of the respective Dyno curves.
Third line is an appraisal of its reliability.
The Curve is in " " , because as in the case of torque, as it's Linear it is in fact not a curve at all.

You'll have to excuse the spelling mastakes ;) as I went to a 1970's inner London comprehensive where it seemed the political ambitions of the staff greatly outweighed the will to teach.

Thanks for the translation, at least now it makes sense.

You do have to realise you are posting on a forum where there are many levels of skills and abilities across a great variety of lambretta usages; from those that haven't a clue what a jet is (never mind how to do a plug chop) to some that think that poor gearing is an electrical problem :o :o
