Looks Good hope it gets more interest than my post about the ss225 kit

I've ridden a couple of SS225s but not owned one so I can't really comment on the long-term user experience.

Presume that is a prototype rather than the production version?
How does the crank get in ?
Standard layshaft and gearbox or something new?
The brake set up looks it goes outside the bearing area.
Designed to work with the 8 stud hub?

The crankcase is split down the middle if you look closely

I thought that looked like a casting mark but you could be right.

If you look at the first photo, where the mag housing sits you can see the allen screws that hold the two halves together.

Great idea for a casing that can take wider crank webs and resolve the crank twisting, or welding needed to avoid it, that we have as a constraint with the standard casing.
IMO - Now all we need is for 'the establishment to make us a barrel casting with oversized central core that allows the cylinder studs to be moved further out and the barrel walls to remain suitably thick for a bigger bore... BUT... keeping the standard porting configuration and low porting spec on a longer stroke crank. Ooh, a 300cc standard (perhaps Stage 3 porting) Lambretta casing based on the tried and tested Lambretta design; a real stump puller that doesn't over-rev, overheat, pulls long gearing to a high touring max speed, doesn't warp bore walls and doesn't twist cranks. What a motor that would be, rather than another 9-10K rev monster.
Dear Santa...
Adam
PS - I'm sure that my comment above is exactly what the world was crying out for when Innocenti was only manufacturing the smallblock 125-175 casing, and look at the massive success that the 200 casing was! However, it didn't take long before it had been bored and stroked to the max... and we'd reached its limits again. Rather than tuning our way to additional performance, perhaps it is time we took the next step and manufactured the next standard BIGGER bore/stroke casing?

Turn the transfers thru 45 or 90 degrees and free up some ground clearance.
Copy a twist and go rear disc.
Move the gear selector wishbone to give longer throw so five standard gears can fit.
Change the mag housing and flywheel so reliable Oem Jap stators can be used.
ditch the energy sapping chain and use the vespas style direct drive.
It's a blank canvas why live in the confines of a near 60 year old design.

Just watched the video on Sluk, explains a lot more than a picture does.
Twin brake cams or disc option
And they reckon much cheaper than we would have thought..
With all that gasket face and room for long cranks I don't think we will need five gears with the possibility owes it will open up.

So........what's affordable ?
A new SIL casing is £300ish and a decent crank £200ish.
I would hope the new casing and crank is under £1000, but even then I don't know if that's "affordable" to most scooterists......myself included

Really great that these guys are 'forcing the boundaries' in the Lambretta world. In the majority of cases a standard case does 'everything is says on the tin' and invariably works extremely well with no issues, but is the modern case more geared for racing maybe ?? .....you can only go so fast on 10 inch wheels, unless like the GTS the frame can be developed to take larger diameter wheels.
I would be very interested IF someone could do an article / analysis of new modern day layshafts against old 50 yr old plus ones we are still using.....ie; 'metal fatigue' maybe through using scientific materials experts to see 'pros and cons'
BUT .......You heard him in the video ' a really powerful engine at affordable prices' ...........so i'll start saving lol and be ready for the 350 engine, but aren't there now a few other companies doing reproduced engine cases ?............small downside on this engine, you have to drop the engine out the frame to get to the crank, but that's a minor issue against benefit........I hope it's out soon would be very interested ..
