Wassell and sip speedo

Hello , just trying to get my wiring installed on my build and just wondered if anyone had any info and experience that has worked . I wanted to have a live suply to the speedo and lights but have been informed that I need an A/c suply for the Rev counter . Can I just splice in the brown into one of the yellows coming out of the stator and then connect the red to a fused battery suply and black to earth . I've read that some have had problems in setting this up and also getting all the functions of the sip to work . I don't want to fry the speedo by connecting wrong . Anyone with any tried and working experience of this I would be grateful of any input to put me in the light ;)
Thanks in advance

The AC supply for the rev counter can be taken from either yellow from the stator.
The DC supply will need to be switched otherwise the speedo will stay on continuously. There is no permanent feed for the speedo, hence you need to keep resetting the time on the clock. All mileage recorded is wrote to an eeprom chip in the speedo that holds the info until the next power up.
If you search the forum with wassel and sip speedo you will find loads of info on the subject.
I wired mine that way and all works well.
