I'm thinking of putting a 186 kit on my scoot. Been looking at the casa 186 kit
What's this kit like for reliability?
I'm running a 22 mm carb with af 42mm clubman exhaust
I bought a cheap Indian kit and was rubbish and ended up in the bin

The casa is a decent kit , I,ve fitted a few with no issues. It will work well with your existing parts also.

Is there not an issue with replacement pistons for this kit? Or has this been resolved now.....

As much as I wanted to buy the GT kit, I went for the Casa as the running in procedure was a lot simpler. Sadly, it would have taken me ages to do 1000 miles and the Casa was run in in no time.
With a MB Clubman exhaust, Polini 23mm carb (recommended by Chiselspeed) and a GP125 gearbox with 19x46 gearing it runs really well, cruising all day at 55-60 and topping out at around 65-67. Torque is brilliant, it's like an auto in top gear.
Dyno readings are 10.64bhp and 11.59 ft/lbs torque. Doesn't sound a lot but it rides really well.

(Not my first post - I've been on the forum for a while, but my log in wasn't working so had to re-register)

I can appreciate what you are saying regards the kit here. A friend of mine bought the Casa 210. He had it set up and dynod with his old clubman and a 22mm phbl Delly through the airbox. I t dynod at 10 hp, but it was a very old and blocked clubman. H e boughjt the bgm clubman, had it re jetted and dynod and took it to Davos. It's not a fast bike, but is torquey, and cruises lovely and hasn't missed a beat. He loves it. It's not my kind of kit but ticked every box he was looking at. The fuel consumption isn't anything like what was claimed, but it never is though is it.cheers,Speedy.

who said you had to do 1000 miles running in on a gt kit? by the 200 mile mark you can ride it normally and by 500 you can hold it wide open and try to kill it..... as long as its set up right!

200 miles? Unfortunately that's not what I was told.
Anyway, I'm happy with the Casa, it does everything I wanted it to do. Maybe next time I'll go for a GT.

what gets me is we spend several hundred pounds on a kit bit more on exhaust and carb and end up doing the same speed as a standard px near as damm it
