Just wondered what sort of quality they are.

A friend bought some. He says they are very well made and worth the money. He also commented that at least they were straight unlike 2nd hand forks on eBay

i believe that there has been an issue with the positioning of the upper damper brackets

Early GP ones had the groove for the headset bolt too low so you had to file it longer by about 3mm. It was easier to elongate the slot than it was to return them. I never bought any more but this issue was raised by Sticky in an article in Scootering Rag at the time so presumably they rectified the fault, though I can't confirm that.

I've just had to fettle a pair of Scomadi Jet forks for a similar issue.

Wish I had read that article

...after fecking about for ages with a set of LI Scomadi forks I eventually came to the same conclusion and the same fix...

Actually now I think about it the stem length was 3mm short when measured against several Italian and Indian GP forks and elongating the slot was the only way to make then usable.

My LI forks did measure up to the sizes given in the Sticky book and matched a bent pair they where replacing, but the pinch bolt position was in the wrong place

Well I'm shocked by the adjustments some have made. As far as I can remember my mates GP forks went in with very little fettling

You'd think they'd go in without no fettling at all.
