RT 225 & casa curly pipe

Postby bjhart » Sun Apr 10, 2016 8:29 pm

Hi
Has anyone tried this combination yet?
I'm currently running an Ancillottii pipe but am thinking of a full expansion but without cutting the rear boards.
Are the Casa curly pipes very loud....I'd like something a little quieter ideally
Any feedback / opinion appreciated.

Cheers

I run JL3 curly pipes on both my scoots... love them...

RT225 on my GP, Rapido 225 on my S2...

Still needed to cut the rear board on the S2 (where it meets the exhaust mounting bracket on the engine block) but not visible and hidden by sidepanel.

Noise is what you would expect... not quiet, but not too loud.

i have just fitted one of these pipes to an engine in my scoot, not an RT so cant help with the combo Q but its a iron 200 with a tv200 gearbox so i dont think the pipe is the best option but the new mbgm clubman was also giving fixing problems not helped by a 60 x110mm crank with associated packer.i got it as i liked the look and simplicity of fitting and guessed it might sound good which it does, a sort of raspy/tinny sound like the Mito Jolly moto rerverse on Youtube
but be prepaered for some fettling, the pipe does not slide on the stub very far and the pipe fixing does not meet the hanger, i have put a 1/2 " packer in to fill the gap. had a quick spin this afternoon but the carb was well off so cant say how it goes just yet, will update but it was never for this engine its for my rapido 230 5 speed in the future. andy

Cheers Andy, I can't find anything that tells you when the power cuts in, I'm after something for touring....be interesting to get your feedback....I guess so far the options without upsetting the aesthetics too much, JL 3 curly or BGM big box. The price is good for the casa curly but I want the power low down the rev range.
