All depends on what you think of as performance. The power delivery and 'performance' of different kits can differ massively but both have excellent performance for their intended function. Comparing a revvy high BHP kit to a low revving lower BHP touring kit is a bit like trying to consider which performs better a Ferrari or a Land Rover? Without any changes to the vehicles in question, change the intended purpose; high speed autobahn 400 miles or 400 miles through the desert or up the side of a mountain?

You need to apply the right motor/kit to the application that you want it for.

Looks like the head I had fitted was too high compression. Looks like it was a reaper head. It was a used kit that I had picked up. Jetting was roughly what I have on my other identical motor apart from the head it was all the same. Stripped it down and no evidence of air leaks just the piston holed. Barrel is unmarked so it looks like a new piston and genuine head and I should be good to go. Stripped the bottom end, cleaned it out and rebuilt using new seals and mag gasket. Just waiting on new parts and it will be good to go

After a little more tweeking of the carb it's running even better now than at South Downs. Had a blast down the M53 last week and it tops out at just shy of 70 (69.7 to be precise!). Going through the gears it hits around 48 in third. And as South Downs proved it gobbles up hills. I can't compare to other kits but a few people commented on it's performance that weekend. I'm happy!

RT195 with MEC 60/110 crank
28mm Delly, 42mm AF clubman
AV268 / X13 2nd clip / 118 main / 53 idle
