Hey guys, Race rapido 225, open carb, what is the ring gap tolerance and what sort of mileage have people been getting out of a set?, done over 3k on mine. Any thoughts? Cheers, Bob

I'd say maximum gap for a good running engine, something around 0.55-0.6mm ( 0.025’’=0.6mm),I have ran Rapido engines with 0.8mm gap but they were lacking power.
I've only used 1mm Wiseco rings.
3K plus miles with open carb, doesn't sound bad.

Did about 5 times that on mine. Only changed them as the engine was out to change an oil seal.

Thanks lads, just starting to notice a little loss of power on hills, still drives fine tbh, just wondering if they get to a point when they weaken after a particular mileage.

Not the easiest thing to say,
some factors that can affect piston ring life,
use of filter, chamfered ports, size of the ports, running in period, riding techniques.
