Yes they have upgraded them. If you let them know they will send you replacements

I had one of the earlier ones do this too. The slipper bolts are available from Beedspeed, if you get stuck.
https://www.beedspeed.com/lambretta-cha ... 1eeovoue72I noticed the new ones I received were a bit different to the one that snapped, so I replaced both with the newer, stronger bolts.

How old are the GT chain tensioners that break ? I have one fitted that I bought at the begining of the year.

Fitted this two years ago and i opened the casing prior to last years Euro as I was getting a "funny" noise.

The photo is good and there is a grey mist over everything where a nut/stud got ground into the oil.
The tensioner bolts/nuts had come loose (or sheared ?) letting the tensioner have a trip round the casing. It must have jammed somewhere as their is a nice groove in the tensioner plate.

Makes me think....stick to what I know and leave it on shelf for the moment.
Think i'll continue to use the more traditional route, until it's resolved.
Hopefully Rich T will be along and confirm the position.

I bought, and fitted, one of these earlier this year. When I bought it they took the original bolts out of the bag and threw them away saying 'they are made of cheese' and replaced them with the ones they use in their workshop. I've just opened the engine after about three thousand miles and all was as it should be.
Obviously the quality of the bolts is a known issue.
Sorry - just realised OP wasn't referring to the fixing bolts

I'll post up a pic later but the new bolt heads are shaped to fit the slots and the old bolts are hex head.

The GT (like some others) is an "over or under" type. I found this useful what altering gearing as I didn't have to use a stretched chain.

I hope mine doesn't go,I've fitted mine to pull down and if it goes it will ride along the top run of the chain and get stuck between the clutch sprocket and case.

i think everybody who has one of these and other modifications made to their steed have a list of such things printed on the back of their parker or jacket so others riding behind or near by have fair warning , this will of course include me

Richard Taylor of GT has been in touch with me and has confirmed that there was an issue if the supplied hex head bolts were over tightened (correct torque setting was on the packaging).
So he decided to produce an alternative fixing without a h head (both types are shown in bike grims photos).
Richard went onto to say that all suppliers who purchased the guide were sent the upgraded fixings circa 18 months ago to pass on.
I couldn't remember where mine came from so Rich will be replacing them.
So thanks to rich and the original poster.

To be clear I think it should be stated that the bolts in question from the OP are not those that appear to have failed or come out on the picture of the casing.
