175 info

I'm in the process of rebuilding after a bump. Have fitted an AF 175 cylinder and asso piston to match. The cylinder is supposedly a stage 4.
What sort of performance can I expect as a ball park top speed and acceleration?
Set up is also sterling exhaust and either a 22mm through air box or 28mm Mikuni with remote.
As a standard GP150, top speed struggled over 45.

Cheers

I would have thought a top speed of 60-65 mph with a bit brisker than std acceleration as long as the transfers and inlet manifolds are blended

I think the anticipated 65mph will be the Lambretta speedo reading, not the actual speed. I'd subtract 10 from that.

I think that's probably about right. Mind you a steady 55mph is nothing to be sneezed at. It's actually pretty good going.

I'm running a barrel like yours with a PM pipe and a 30mm. Done a lot of miles on it but it maxed out at 60 mph with the wind behind it. I opened the exhaust pot 2 mm higher and it was going comfortably at 65 mph on the auto bahns to Austria but it is thirsty!

Good luck

I run a 175 - it's been ported a bit and I flowed the inlet manifold to the port. Running a 20mm carb through an airbox with the baffle in it and a 42mm clubman.

I changed the front sprocket (standard Li150 Series 3 gearbox) to a 17 and it pulls well, and hold 60 on the flat on a dual carriageway, measured by GPS. Feels like it would rev a bit higher, possibly if I took the baffle out of the airbox so it may touch 65mph, but not sure if it would hold it on the flat. .

Starts easily and returns about 70mpg ridden in a lively fashion. I really like 175s.
