Very well for the money if it's something like a stage 4 cast iron barrel or say a classic rapido 225 but not very well on something like a TS1, that's more like expansion pipe territory

From my own experience,
I would say it's better on acceleration than top speeds on a ported cast iron 225 or a Rapido 225, on a TS 1 225 there is still decent performance but no where near as much performance or top speed as a suitable expansion chamber.
But I would say on the larger capacity kits the 48mm AF clubman with the wider tail pipe diameter seems to give lower engine temps at higher speeds than the smaller clubman's which also usually have narrower tail pipes which leads to slightly higher bleed pressures.

I used a one on a Rapido and an Avanti, both performed well, with a broader spread of power than some expansions. The main difference is the top end speed, My Rapido still pulled 70mph + (gps), took a while getting there though !!
The 48mm is meant to run cooler than the 42mm, with little difference in performance.

would have thought the 48mm would have performed better than a 42mm due to the size .......bigger manfold and down pipe?
