Evening gents
Anybody got some advice on running these two together I have adjusted shock to highest point but still have contact between manifold and frame, whats the best way to get some clearance please, sorry its my first ever TS1 build....

I took a dremel to the manifold when I built my TS1 several years ago after trying offset cones, very unsuccessfully.

Offset cones. Couldn't get them to stay still. Dremel worked fine. You only need a small gap between frame and manifold when scoot is on the stand.

Gonna Dremel, on doing a bit of research the offset cones seem to slip in a lot of cases and put engine out of line, I also got the advantage of this being a Cutdown build, so I can Dremel the frame a small bit too if I want

You going the wrong way with the shock. The shorter it is the more clearance you get. The more you lengthen the shock ,the more you pivot the engine closer to frame at the manifold. Try to shorten it see if it has effect.

I found that out with trial & error, you are spot on, I have managed to gain a small amount of clearance with 2 Dremel burrs, one more to go should do the trick!

An R1 shock should be 295mm which is the shortest you can get I think. Adjusting the spring will not change the length of the shock, only the stiffness of the spring.

I know some don't like offset cones but they will stay sill in the frame if a little bearing lock is applied between the cone and the frame and the nuts nipped up tight....well it worked for me anyway

Just set the cones where you want them & use some loctite retaining compound overnight

Ok, reassuring then, I have got a set of offset cones from the very nice man in Blackpool. they look real quality too, I will keep them up my sleeve as I think I have got a decent bit of clearance with 3 night dremeling
