"Quiet" muffler required

hi peeps
i'm probably asking for the impossible but here goes.
i'm currently running a Performance pipe with a "quiet" stainless muffler. when i say "quiet" i'm comparing it to my Sito Ancillotti with stainless downpipe that i had fitted previously.
no way is this new pipe what i call quiet (and i'm deaf in my right ear).
can anyone point me in the right direction for a muffler that gives a genuine reduction to the loud "crack" that i'm lumbered with at the mo.

here are details of the flange i have to fit to:

thanks for any help guys :)

yes, but you've got to drill the rivets out first

Getting the band back on and it rivetted on is a PITA as well

Yes but it can be done - It gets easier the more you do. :)

Has anyone had any success with the cap type arrangement used on early frescoes.
We fitted a similar device to kart pipes to beat noise restrictions at tracks.

I made this for my JL3,but the centre pipe wasn't the same size so had to make another.Centre pipe 28 mm approx 23mm from centre for fixing holes which are 40mm apart. You could drill and helicoil new holes if needed..O/A size 76mm.Its staimless with 10 mm ali ends,so is heavy and you'll need another bracket, but it knocked 6db off the pipe noise. £35 plus p&p if your interested

I've always found carbon or alloy tube better as it seems to absorb the noise better than stainless. A new JL can seems to last about a fortnight until it makes your ears bleed.

Darrell Taylor was doing some at one point in Carbon that were supposed to be quiet.
