Iron liner for RB20

Postby Scooterdude » Thu Aug 17, 2017 7:19 pm

Ok ive inherited an RB20 cylinder from a recent rebuild as its damaged, im thinking along the lines of having it repaired by having an iron liner fitted. Is this even possible? and has anyone had experience of having this kind of work done + whats the expected cost? cheers...

Lining an RB20 might not be practical as the spigot is very thin to start with. You could consider a repair and a replate but at what cost compared to a new cylinder?

Yes I had noticed the spigot is wafer thin, the more I think about it I don't think it would be a good idea.
The cost of rewelding/ ceramic lining is only about a fiver less than a new cylinder so not worth doing.

Yes... Its the same with the 72mm cylinders. Use em, abuse em then make door stops out of them.
