Hello,
I have a gp200 but cant be arsed to get a full bike licence. so is it possible to restrict my 200 to 125. cant find any kits on the web.

when the 125 law first came in there was some barrels (Spanish I think ?) that fitted the 200 stud pattern but were 125cc. There may be some of these still kicking about.

I recall doing this years ago by giving away a 200 engine... and putting a 125 set up on a
150 casing biggest mistake
.. truth is top speed of a 200 is around that ( often less) of a modern day 125
And unless someone was to take the barrel off and measure etc I'm not sure
They tell... this is why many 200s and often bigger are often for sale registered
As 125... personally I'd keep as is

Just might do that. Dont reaĺly want to miss a round with engine, as its a sx200 one.

Not good advice at all, would invalidate your insurance for starters and in the event of an accident....well who knows? Just take the test and have done with it.

Richard is right, taking the test would make most sense or you could buy a 125 engine and have it re-registered as a 125 but as Richard says, it would be VERY slow to tide in today's traffic and you would need an engineers report to validate the change. I did this a couple of years ago when I bought a PX200 without engine and had a LML 125 engine fitted for my son to ride.

I have to pass my test on a 600cc. Which scares the shit out of me.why can't it be done on KWs. Sure 200 lamy is lower than a new 125.

Dont be a chicken the 600 will go as fast as you twist the throttle. You never know you could enjoy it . You will be wanting a ts1 in the 200 after you pass you test . By the time you have messed about changing engine you will have about paid for your test , and who wants to ride about with L plates on and do cbt every two years . Go for good luck col

Totally agree with this.

I've got a triumph 1050 as well as my lambretta and I find the lambretta scarier. 'Proper' bikes are MUCH easier to ride.

I remember having to convert a 200 down to a 125 for my brother back in 85. AF used to sell 200 barrels sleeved down to 125. The performance decrease was amazing.

Also when you pass your balls wi drop & your voice will deepen
